Careers & placements
Orientation, clinical skill, industry sessions, a full-year internship and placement support. A six-stage pathway from the first semester to placement support.
The market
More patients than practitioners.
Approximately 63 million Indians live with significant hearing impairment. The registered professional workforce numbers in the thousands.
The Claverton career proposition
Most colleges treat placement as a final-year activity. That is too late. By the time a student is in their eighth semester, the things employers assess — clinical hours, case variety, report writing, patient counselling — are already fixed.
Claverton runs career preparation as a six-stage pathway that begins in the first semester and ends with placement support. The intent is that a graduate arrives at the job market with clinical hours, a completed internship and interview readiness already behind them.
The pathway, the placement cell’s commitments and the industry partners we can name in writing. Outcome figures follow once Claverton has graduates of its own, audited against student records. Anything published here can be asked for in writing.
The pathway
The six stages run from the first semester to the final year.
Semester 1
Every student starts with a clear picture of the two professions, the settings they lead to and what employers actually assess.
Year 1–2
Structured observation and supervised assisting build the case-handling instincts that interviews test for.
Year 2–3
Diagnostic technique, therapy planning, report writing and patient counselling — the working skills of the job, practised under supervision.
Year 3
Guest clinicians, device manufacturers, hospital visits and workshops connect coursework to how the sector actually hires.
Year 4
A year of full-time supervised practice with real case-loads.
Final year
CV development, interview preparation, professional registration guidance and introductions to employers in the sector.
The fourth year is a full year of supervised clinical work, and the stage at which most students meet the employers they later work for, through the clinics and hospitals they intern with.

Typical employers
Salary ranges above describe the audiology and speech-language pathology profession in India and vary with role, city, employer and experience. They are indicative of the sector — not a Claverton placement promise or a guarantee of compensation.
Employer categories describe where professionals in this field typically work. They are not a claim that Claverton has a recruitment arrangement with any named organisation. Confirmed recruiter and clinical partners will be listed separately, with consent.
Employment sectors
Graduates are employed across eight sectors rather than a single one.
Diagnostic audiology, implant programmes and inpatient rehabilitation.
Outpatient assessment, therapy and long-term hearing care.
Multidisciplinary recovery after stroke, injury and neurological illness.
Communication support embedded in a child's learning environment.
Hearing aids, cochlear implants, clinical support and product training.
Screening, diagnosis and therapy in the first years of life.
Independent clinics — the profession's most common entrepreneurial route.
Teaching, clinical research and higher study in speech and hearing sciences.
Outcomes
Students who join in 2027–28 graduate in 2031. Placement outcomes will be published here from that year, audited against student records, batch by batch.
Higher education
A significant share of BASLP graduates go on to a master's degree — in India or abroad — either immediately or after two or three years in practice. Both are valid, and career counselling covers both.
M.Sc / M.ASLP in audiology or speech-language pathology, opening senior clinical, academic and research roles.
A recognised route into overseas speech and hearing sciences programmes, subject to credential evaluation and licensing.
Auditory neuroscience, speech science, hearing technology and rehabilitation outcomes are active research fields.
Clinical hours count in this profession. Many graduates build a case-load first and return to study with a clearer focus.
No. Claverton does not guarantee placement. Claverton commits to structured career preparation, a full-year clinical internship, interview and CV support, and introductions to employers in the sector. Outcome data is published once it can be verified against student records.
Starting salaries in clinical roles are broadly comparable to other allied health professions in India. Sector bands for specific roles are listed above. Earnings rise substantially with specialisation — cochlear implant audiology, dysphagia and vestibular assessment command higher bands — and independent practice has the widest range.
Most opportunities emerge during the final-year internship, through the clinics and hospitals students train in. That is one reason the internship placement matters as much as the coursework.
It is achievable, but most graduates work in a hospital or clinic for two to four years first — building a case-load, a referral network and clinical confidence. The profession has an unusually clear route to independent practice compared with many healthcare careers.
Yes. Hearing aid and cochlear implant manufacturers hire BASLP graduates as clinical specialists, trainers and product support professionals. These roles typically pay more than entry-level clinical positions and combine clinical knowledge with commercial work.
Academic roles normally require a master's degree and, for senior positions, a doctorate. RCI registration is required to supervise clinical training. Career counselling covers what each academic route requires and when to start it.
Admissions open
Career preparation begins in the first week of the programme. Applications for BASLP are open now.
